The Tanuki Dispatch x Epis

Epis:

I spawned somewhere in west central Wisconsin in a hundred acre wood. Early in life I became fascinated with the imagery found in interconnecting tree branches and the stories they whispered. I've been chasing meaning through the examination of interconnectedness and isolation ever since. How interactions, or lack of, cause interpretation. What propels my art forward is a drive to understand, ontologically and epistemologically, what it is we are and exactly how to define where "this all" really is. I don't view life as being reduceable to the parameters set by our senses, nor do I believe that there are knowable absolutes in our traversal through life. Furthermore, I don't believe we have ever established, nor are capable of establishing a clear image or interpretation of reality that will satisfy the Grand "Us" enough to chill the fuck out and stop trying to control everything. So I create interpretations of my experience in visual mediums in order to share my journey with others. My intent is to capture a feeling of a time and place wrapped up with interpretation. In this way, I tend toward forms of abstraction, inference, and occasionally non-representational imagery and/or minimalism.

The Tanuki Dispatch acts as a central hub for showcasing various projects, both ongoing and complete, that I feel are demonstrative of my point of view. I built it using Drupal 11, an open source CMS (Content Management System) which has been both frustrating and incredibly useful throughout the years. The current iteration is a work in progress, but that is reflective of life itself and so, is fitting.
